What is the Trust?

Peter Diver, the founder of the Trust, identified the need for a programme within the industry
to encourage loyalty and productivity amongst apprentices of all trades. This has been achieved by designing the unique ‘Peter Diver Apprentice Sponsor shipTrust’. The Trust motivates the apprentice to gain their registration while staying loyal to their employer who has invested in their training. The Trust is one of the first of it’s kind in New Zealand and adds extra benefit to the industry not offered by anyone else. While the trust was originally modeled on the plumbing industry, it is felxible and available for all other major trades around New Zealand with terms and conditions suitable for each industry.

The basic points of the Peter Diver Aprentice Sponsor Trust:
• The apprentice pays their tool money into the Trust for a period of 5 years.
• The employer matches this dollar for dollar.
• The apprentice receives ‘tools’ by way of sponsorship.
• At the end of the 6 year term the apprentice receives a payout of all monies paid into the Trust.
b(up to $10,000)
• To enable businesses to plan ahead

The goal of the Peter Diver Apprentice Sponsorship Trust is to increase the skills and productivity
of the workforce in our industries.
